Welcome to my page:
Bonnie Willis Western
(40th Reunion Profile)

After high school I married Byron Harding and moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he was stationed at Carswell AFB. We were living in Fort Worth when Kennedy was shot and my son Allen was born seven days before the President's death. We lived in Fort Worth for 18 months then transferred to Topeka, Kansas, Forbes AFB, where my daughter was born. After living there 11 months we were transferred to Wichita, Kansas and lived there 6 months before getting out of the Air Force.

After leaving the Air Force, we moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and bought a house in Carrollton, Texas, lived there a year and a half, then moved to Lewisville, Texas near Lake Garza Little Elm. My husband, at that time, got an offer to move to Pakistan, so we packed up everything and moved on to a new adventure.

On our way over I got the opportunity to visit London, Paris, and Rome. The children attended the International School in Islamabad and I worked at the school as a teachers aid. While living in Pakistan, I got to see the Khyber Pass and visit Afghanistan. The Afghan Gorge is breath taking with its high mountains and rushing water.

We lived in Pakistan from March 1969 until 1974. After that we moved to the Island of Penang in Malaysia. The children attended a Missionary School called Dalat and we were there two years, then we moved to KL (Kwalalumper) the capital of Malaysia. While living overseas, I got to visit several interesting places, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Switzerland, Greece,
Germany, etc.

After 16 1/2 years of marriage, the marriage was dissolved. I moved back to Texas for a short time, lived in Bedford then in Lubbock, Texas. After two years, returned to Indiana, where I enrolled my children in Plainfield Schools. And my, how things had changed as far as discipline.

Both of my children graduated from Plainfield High School and this will also be my son's 20th reunion.

After moving back to Plainfield in 1979, I went to work for the State of Indiana and am now a Purchasing Administrator for Workforce Development. I will be with the State 23 years. I got remarried in 1980. We will be married 23 years this May 7th.

I'm very proud of my two lovely children and thank God for them everyday. My son Allen is living in Bedford, New Hampshire and travels overseas a lot. He sells military equipment for Governments overseas, is married and has two lovely children, Alexander who is eight and Nicole, who is five and a lovely wife named Ginger. Both of my grandchildren are toe heads with blue eyes. Even if they are mine they are as smart as whips and speak very distinctly.

My daughter, Angela, is married to a wonderful man named Spencer Codding. They have no children. Angela is a computer consultant and travels quite a bit. In fact, Angela has had three assignments here in Indiana so I do get to see her from time to time for a few hours, but I'll take what ever I can get.

I've been very blessed to have my parents as long as I have. My Father will be 86 in June, although he is in the Nursing Home at Danville. And my Mother will be 84 in October and lives at home.

I take water aerobics classes two days a week since I have arthritis in my knees and need knee replacements in both knees. I crochet and do some needlework and the rest of the time is spent going to the Nursing Home and Hospital.

Do you remember the time they put the crucifix on the lawn of Mr. Grosskreutz' lawn? Mike Bogan had told me he was one of the people involved in doing this.

Do you remember Rita Hardin going around the Burger Ranch with the Bell on top of her car after we had won the sectionals?

Do you remember working on the class float at Ann Arden's parents house on Stafford Road?

Remember all the high school dances, basketball games and cheer block, sock hops after the games, and of course, the Proms?

Remember being in the Brownsburg gym during sectionals and the snow storm?
