Hello everyone!! Greetings from Bedford, Indiana. I will attempt to catch you all up on what has been happening in my life since our graduation in 1962.
Shortly after graduation, I took a trip to California - the bay area to be exact. I fell in love with the area and the ocean and as the song goes, "I left my heart in San Francisco". I would have liked to have stayed there but thought I should come back to Indiana since I had never been away and never had a "real" job. After I returned, I started working for the Veterans Administration. Mom and Daddy moved to Kokomo, IN in the middle of the 60's. Geraldine and Gwendolyn went also. It was hard to be away from them, but we did get together as much as we could. I met Joe Wever in 1965 and we married in 1966. We were blessed with two children - a daughter, Jennifer Jo, born in 1969 and a son, Joseph Aaron, born in 1972. I was able to be a stay at home mom and I really felt my life was very good. Joe traveled a lot in his many jobs, and we began to move a lot. I've lived in Indiana, West Virginia, back to Indiana, then to New York, to Tennessee, to North Carolina, and lastly back to Indiana. Although it was interesting to live in all those different places, it was difficult to have any roots or stability with all the job changes and consequent moves. After 26 years of marriage, we divorced. This was an extremely difficult time in my life, but I have been blessed with a wonderful, supportive family - my children, Geraldine and Charlie, Gwendolyn and Max, my older sister, and many, many friends - two of whom I graduated with in 1962. Hi Janice and Linda!!! I have been divorced 9 ½ years and my life has changed tremendously since the divorce - positive changes I might add. I began working for Hoosier Hills Credit Union in 1988. I am still there and am the manager of a drive up branch. I have wonderful, caring co-workers, and enjoy living and working in southern Indiana. However, I am a sun, sea, and surf person, and deep down, I know I belong in Florida. I don't know if I'll ever get to move there but thanks to Geraldine and Charlie, I've had many wonderful vacations there, and each time I go, I think I won't go back to Indiana - but, I'm still here! January 30, 2002, a new person came into my life and I love him with my whole heart and soul. He is the main man in my life. He makes me smile every day. He is my grandson, Aaron Lawrence Manuel Cepeda. What a joy and blessing he has been for me, and I am so lucky because he and his mommie and daddy live very close to me so I get to see him nearly every day! I just hope they all don't get sick of seeing me!
That pretty much sums up where I've been and what I've done the last 40 years. But, my goodness, the time has flown. It doesn't seem possible we have been out of high school 40 years!! I am so glad we are having a 40 year class reunion and I want to take this opportunity to thank everone who has worked so hard putting it all together. And thanks to Chuck and Karen for all they've to set up a web site for our class. It has been so interesting getting re-acquainted with all of you who have taken the time to submit you webpages. I have so enjoyed reading and re-reading about everyone. I look forward to seeing and visiting with all of you in September!!! Your Classmate,
