Welcome to my page:
Geraldine Janz Rose
(40th Reunion Profile)

After graduation, I began working at an insurance company in Indianapolis and worked there until August of l964. At that time I moved to Kokomo, Ind. as daddy was transfered there. I remember it was sad leaving Plainfield, and Genevieve and Gwendy were staying in the Indianapolis area. I had never been away from them, so it was a big move. I was hired at Chrysler Corp. as a secretary. I met my husband,
Charlie, on a blind date. We were married on June 3, l967. I quit my job at Chrysler in l969 when our daughter, Julie, was born. Our son, Jim was born on Jan. l, l974. What a way to start the New Year! ! Charlie's job took us to Frankfurt, Germany. I realize now that those were some of the best years of our lives. Our travels took us all over Europe and on a Greek Island Cruise. Maybe, since Charlie just retired, we will be able to go back.

We returned to Kokomo in July of l982 and lived there until we were transfered to Michigan in l992. Charlie just retired a week ago and we are preparing our lake cottage for retirement. The cottage has been our little retreat for the last seven years, and we are real anxious to make it our full time address.

The highlights of my life have been the births of my children and their graduations from college. Julie joined her father as a Purdue graduate, Jim graduated from Indiana State. Also, Julie's marriage in l997 was a wonderful time for celebration. She made it even more special because she chose to wear my wedding gown. We are anxiously waiting to become grandparents, but no news yet.

Some of my highschool memories are of the sectionals at Brownsburg and getting to stay the night because of the blizzard. The Regionals in Indianapolis when we played Manuel Highschool and the Van Arsdale twins was also a pretty memorable experience. The proms were also exciting and much fun.

I care tremendously about our children of today being brought up in such a materialistic society, the lack of morals and the hideous television and movies that seem to be so popular. Take me back to the 50's when everything was so much more simple.

  Fondly,

Geraldine (the middle one of the 3 G's)
